The Desert of Terlingua: Modern meets Bohemian

I was contacted by my friend and collaborator, Lauren Field of Lauren Field Design to create an invitation suite for a styled shoot in Marfa, Texas. Admittedly not knowing much about the town of Marfa prior to her email. After doing some research, I learned quickly that this tiny town in Texas is home to American artsit, Donald Judd. Inspiration hit me immediately and I knew that the main focus of my suite was to accomplish creating a suite on some type of plastic. My mind was set but I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

Lauren and I headed to the hardware store where we purchased some thin plexiglass. Perfect... until I sat down to try to write on it. No matter what I tried, nothing was working for me. After a few hours of trying different things and getting dismal results I came to the conclusion that writing on plastic is HARD. With a strong will to succeed and a little bit of heavy sanding, I was able to get the copper ink to stick. The results? Well, see for yourself!
